Kaolin is a pure natural mineral with Kaolinite mineral phase, in addition to halloysite, hydronenenebb biotite, Illite, Diosmectite and its quartz, marble, etc. Kaolin has a certain specific surface area and adsorption performance. After modification, the internal pores are significantly improved, which can demonstrate selective adsorption performance. It has excellent application prospects in ecological environment protection and remediation, such as sewage treatment, heavy metal adsorption, raw coal solution, and catalytic oxidation.
1. Modified kaolin as raw material for heavy metal adsorption
Research has shown that the activity of kaolin calcined at 800 ℃ is increased, and acid leaching makes its pores smooth and improves its adsorption performance. Under suitable standards, the adsorption rate of chromium can reach 91.4%, and the entire adsorption process conforms to the digestion and absorption kinetics equation.
In addition, the use of ammonium sulfate, Potassium thiocyanate and other carbonates or kaolin modified with metal oxides to solve the sewage with heavy metal positive ions such as lead, cadmium and copper is also a hot spot in the scientific research network at this stage.
2. Raw materials for heavy metal adsorption on magnetized kaolin
Liu Zheng et al. used the co ion exchange method to produce magnetic kaolin. After being magnetized, the specific surface area of the kaolin expanded, the pore volume expanded, and the composition of Si and Al elements remained unchanged. The composition of O elements increased, and there were digestion and absorption peaks of Fe, Fe-O, and N-H with strong magnetization. They were used to solve wastewater containing Cu2 and Pb2, with an adsorption rate of over 98% and easy separation and reuse.
3. Modified Kaolin Phosphorus Adsorption Raw Materials
Phosphorus removal by adsorption is a more common way to solve Eutrophication of water quality. Modified kaolin has a good practical effect of phosphorus removal. Acid modification can improve the adsorption and purification treatment performance of phosphorus according to changing the adsorption activity positioning point of kaolin, while calcination can improve the adsorption and purification treatment performance of phosphorus according to the aluminum in active Kaolinite. Different modification solutions can improve the adsorption performance of kaolin for phosphorus, but the actual effects of different modification methods still have certain differences.
In addition, Kaolinite is a component of the soil layer, which can be used as agricultural fertilizer for secondary use after adsorption of phosphorus, and has a broad application prospect in the phosphorus containing sewage treatment industry.
4. Modified Kaolin Wastewater Treatment to Solve Raw Materials
In the fading aspect of wastewater treatment, a common and reasonable economic development method is the organic chemical inclined plate sedimentation tank. Traditional inorganic coagulants have weaker sludge load on chemical substances with low relative molecular weight and good water solubility. Jin Xiaoying and others selected aluminum salt modified kaolin to significantly improve the surface complexation adsorption and solid layer ion exchange adsorption efficiency of modified kaolin, and the larger adsorption capacity of Crystal violet can reach 18mg/g under appropriate standards.
5. Raw materials for daily wastewater treatment using activated coal based kaolin
After being calcined and activated, the specific surface area and porosity of coal based kaolin are greatly increased, and it is also transformed into coagulants with adsorption properties, greatly improving the adsorption performance of coal based kaolin. The use of activated coal based kaolin for daily wastewater treatment is low-cost and cost-effective, achieving the practical effect of "waste treatment".
6. Kaolin high-temperature adsorbent
Kaolin has the ability to adsorb alkaline earth metals and heavy metals at high temperatures, and can handle the problems of slag formation, dust accumulation, erosion, and the discharge of heavy metals and super inhalable particulate matter caused by the entire process of ignition, vaporization, etc. of coal, biomass fuels, and waste.
Kaolin has the ability to adsorb alkali earth metal vapor and heavy metal vapor at high temperatures (>700 ℃), and can be used as an adsorbent in the furnace for high-temperature resin adsorption of heavy metals and alkali earth metals. Kaolin can be mixed with natural materials into the furnace or sprayed for combustion. The vapor of metal material first spreads to the surface of kaolin, and then produces organic chemical adsorption with the surface, and then the adsorption molecular structure further reflects with the surface. If the surface melts, the reflecting material will continue to spread to the interior of kaolin. Its essence is to promote the transfer of alkaline earth metals and heavy metal vapors to easily collected large particles based on organic chemical adsorption and chemical changes. Ultimately, it is collected by the dust collector equipment to prevent dust accumulation, slagging, high-temperature erosion, and conversion into fine particles.
7. Kaolin Environmental Pollution Adsorption Raw Materials
The research shows that the resin adsorption of kaolin on acid gases SO2, NOx and HCl is only secondary activated carbon at the adsorption layer of organic waste gas treatment resin for Incineration power generation environmental pollution.
Li Liping has calcined a certain proportion of kaolin and attapulgite at high temperature, and then mixed them with other Nitric oxide synthase to form an adsorbent that can efficiently adsorb xylene, indoor formaldehyde, and hydrogen sulfide gas. Moreover, the raw material also takes into account the advantages of environmental protection, high quality and low price, and simple processing technology.
8. Raw materials for adsorption of radioactive substances on kaolin
Clay minerals have significant advantages in surface area, porous materials, and good adsorption properties, making them potential backfill materials for radioactive nuclear waste. Zhao Yuting et al. found that the adsorption performance of kaolin for uranium (VI) is good, and the adsorption equilibrium time is short. The equilibrium is achieved at 6 hours, and pH poses a great threat to the adsorption of uranium (VI) by kaolin.
9. Kaolin Photometal Catalyst
Catalytic oxidation technology is a new environmental protection technology that has emerged in recent years. As a pure natural nanotechnology mineral, kaolin has many high-quality characteristics, and its application in catalytic oxidation is becoming increasingly common.
