 It is a composite pigment of Zinc sulfide and Barium sulfate, which generally contains 26~30% Zinc sulfide, but there are also grades containing up to 60% Zinc sulfide. The latter grade is called Zinc sulfide barium pigment in the market. Lithopone was first made by reacting Barium sulfide solution with Zinc sulfate solution in 1847. After filtration, the precipitates are washed and burned to improve their whiteness and the physical properties of the pigments. In the first decade of this century, Lithopone became very important. However, due to the challenge and competition of titanium oxide pigments, the situation changed and its position was inferior to titanium oxide. But it still has widespread use in Europe. Because Lithopone is a combination of Zinc sulfide and Barium sulfate, it is easy to have many improvements in the manufacturing process. At the same time, there are several grades (26~30% ZnS) that provide various special uses, such as providing viscous flow for emulsified paint and water paint, improving brightness, fluidity, leveling or suspension. Although not Lithopone, there are various Zinc sulfide (at least 45% ZnS) and magnesium silicate or its silicate pigments in the market, regardless of the presence of Barium sulfate. Another improved method is to add titanium Lithopone, which contains at least 13% TiO2 and no more than 87% Lithopone. The specific gravity of 30% ZnS Lithopone is 4.18~4.30, the oil absorption is 9~25 pounds of oil/100 pounds of pigment, and less than 0.2% does not pass the 325 sieve.

Purpose:

1. For paints and coatings - it can be used as the filler of paints and coatings to replace the expensive raw materials such as precipitated Barium sulfate, Lithopone, titanium dioxide, active silica, etc., which is suitable for controlling the viscosity of paint to make the product bright and stable.

2. In the plastic industry - it can be used as a filler for plastic ABS raw materials, as well as in chips and mahjong, to make products shiny and shiny, while also improving product strength, stiffness, and wear resistance.

3. Used in the rubber industry, products with a mesh size of less than 500 can be widely used as fillers in rubber products, reducing costs, improving product hardness, acid and alkali resistance, and water resistance. They also have good reinforcement effects on natural rubber and synthetic rubber.

4. For paper making industry - high fineness barite powder can be used as filler and coating filler for white board paper and copper board paper to improve whiteness and surface coverage.
