Quartz powder  

  Quartz powder, also known as silicon micro powder. Quartz sand is a hard, wear-resistant, and chemically stable Silicate mineral. Its main mineral composition is SiO2. The color of quartz sand is milky white, or colorless and translucent. Its hardness is 7. It is brittle without cleavage. It has a shell shaped fracture. It has a grease luster. Its density is 2.65. Its bulk density (20-200 mesh is 1.5). Its chemical, thermal, and mechanical properties have obvious anisotropy. It is insoluble in acid and slightly soluble in KOH solution. Its melting point is 1650 ℃. Quartz sand is a product that is generally finer than 120 mesh (less than 120 mesh) after processing quartz stone extracted from mines. Products exceeding 120 mesh are called quartz powder.

Purpose:

Quartz powder is not classified into grades, but only into specifications. Due to its high whiteness, no impurities, and low iron content, it has a wide range of applications.

1、 Glass: main raw materials of flat glass, Float glass, glass products (glass cans, glass bottles, glass tubes, etc.), optical glass, glass fiber, glass instruments, conductive glass, glass cloth, and special anti radiation glass

2、 Ceramic and refractory materials: raw materials for porcelain, including high silicon bricks, ordinary silicon bricks, and silicon carbide used in kilns.

3、 Buildings: concrete, cementitious materials, road building materials, artificial marble, cement physical performance testing materials (i.e. cement standard sand), etc

4、 Chemical industry: raw materials for silicon compounds and water glass, fillers for sulfuric acid towers, amorphous silica micropowder

5、 Machinery: The main raw materials for casting sand, grinding materials (sandblasting, hard grinding paper, sandpaper, sandcloth, etc.)

6、 Electronics: high-purity metal silicon, communication optical fibers, etc

7、 Rubber, plastic: filler (can improve wear resistance)

8、 Coating: Filler (which can improve the weather resistance of the coating).

9、 Metallurgy: Raw materials or additives, fluxes for silicon metal, ferrosilicon alloy, and silicon aluminum alloy.

10、 Aerospace: its internal molecular chain structure, crystal shape and lattice change law make it have high temperature resistance, small coefficient of thermal expansion, high insulation, corrosion resistance, Piezoelectricity, resonance effect and its unique optical characteristics.
